Insurance pensions for Nizhny Novgorod residents will be indexed by 7.6% from January 1, 2026.

      From the beginning of 2024, insurance pensions in Russia will rise by 7.6%. The indexation will be carried out not on February 1, as previously planned, but on January 1, reports TV channel "360". This innovation differs from previous years, when pension increases took place in the spring.

      After the recalculation, the average amount of the insurance old-age pension will exceed 27,000 rubles. Social pensions will be recalculated separately in April, taking into account the inflation rate.

      The Ministry of Labour emphasized that more than 18.7 trillion rubles have been allocated in 2026 to finance pensions and social programs. These funds will also be directed to support sick leave, payment of pregnancy and childbirth benefits, and assistance to families with children.

      Maternity capital will also increase: for a second child it will amount to almost 974,000 rubles, and for the first — more than 737,000 rubles.

      It was previously reported that the average pension of working pensioners in Russia has exceeded 21,000 rubles.

      Also, a reminder about a new fraud scheme: scammers have started offering Nizhny Novgorod residents to "index" their pensions.
