Professional athletes played with children in the "Sportivny NN" metaverse.

      A meeting between young fans and players from the city’s professional sports clubs was held at a shopping and entertainment center in Nizhny Novgorod. Event participants played virtual games together in the "Sporty Nizhny Novgorod" metaverse on the Roblox platform. The gameplay was broadcast on a large screen and accompanied by a host’s commentary, creating the atmosphere of a real sporting match. The children had a unique opportunity to play on the same team with well-known athletes.

      Young participants spoke with Bogdan Konyushkov — alternate captain of HC Torpedo and a Russian champion; Artyom Chistyakov — one of the youngest FC Pari NN players to debut in the RPL; and Evgeny Baburin — captain of BC Pari NN and two-time Russian Cup winner.

      As part of the event, the children learned about the main sports facilities and sights of Nizhny Novgorod, took part in interactive activities, and received prizes and autographs from the athletes. Everyone who wished could also take a photo in a themed photo zone with a character from the virtual world.

      The "Sporty Nizhny Novgorod" metaverse, built on a popular gaming platform, brings together the city's iconic locations and sports venues, making sport part of the gaming environment familiar to teenagers. Users can explore the virtual Kremlin, the Strelka, and play football, basketball and hockey on the city's virtual arenas.

      The project is aimed at promoting Nizhny Novgorod’s sports and tourism brand through modern communication channels with the younger generation.

      The initiative was implemented by ANO "Center 800" in partnership with the Ministry of Sport of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and ANO "Center for Sports Management and Development in the Nizhny Novgorod Region".
