Dairy products containing hazardous ingredients were found in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

Employees of the chemical-toxicological department of the Nizhny Novgorod Testing Laboratory of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNIIZh" conducted monitoring of the quality of dairy products. From September 10 to 22, specialists tested samples of butter and milk, identifying deviations in the fatty acid composition.

      According to the press service of the institution's Nizhny Novgorod branch, the analysis showed that some products contain elevated amounts of saturated fats, trans fats and cholesterol, while their share of beneficial fatty acids is reduced.

      The results of the laboratory tests were recorded in the automated system "VESTA" and sent to the Rosselkhoznadzor Directorate for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Mari El for further action.

      Specialists warn that regular consumption of dairy products with an imbalanced fatty acid profile can lead to serious health consequences. In particular, such products can raise cholesterol levels, increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes, cause metabolic disorders, obesity and deterioration of skin condition.

      To reduce these risks, it is recommended to choose natural dairy products — whole milk, cottage cheese, kefir, yogurt without artificial additives. It is also important to pay attention to the ingredients and labeling, avoiding products with hydrogenated oils.

      According to specialists, choosing the right dairy products plays an important role in maintaining overall health and preventing chronic diseases.
