      On 25 September at 10:00 (Kremlin, Building 2, meeting hall) a session of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region will be held. Deputies will consider a number of important regional issues.

      Parliamentarians will discuss a draft law “On the regulation of certain relations in the area of restricting the sale of non-alcoholic tonic beverages (including energy drinks) on the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.” The initiative, submitted by the United Russia faction, proposes to ban the sale of energy drinks in the buildings and on the premises of educational, medical, cultural and sports institutions, as well as through vending machines.

      In addition, parliamentarians propose to establish a new regional award — the medal “For Support of the Special Military Operation.” Each year it will be awarded to up to 500 residents of the region who actively assist participants of the SMO and contribute to the restoration of peaceful life in the territories of the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

      One of the topics for discussion will be the initiative of deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region to shorten the decision-making period for starting the heating season. Currently, it is recommended to start the heating season after 5 days during which the average daily air temperature remains below +8 °C. It is proposed to reduce this period to three days.

      Deputies will also discuss a draft appeal to the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin on the problem of a shortage of bus drivers. Its goal is to resolve the staffing issue for drivers on regular passenger routes across the country, including in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      As part of the Legislative Assembly session, a government hour will be held on the topic: “On the implementation of projects to create unified medical spaces in the healthcare sector (‘Health Quarter’, ‘City of Health’, ‘Family Quarter’).”
