The Gathering of the World Youth Festival (12+), which brought together two thousand young people from Russia and 120 countries around the world, concluded in Nizhny Novgorod. The event took place from September 17 to 20 and became an international platform for exchanging ideas, developing youth policy and launching new initiatives.
For several days the city became a magnet for active young people, experts and opinion leaders from different corners of the globe. Participants discussed key development areas: from media and the creative industries to digitalization, entrepreneurship and public administration.
The Gathering was the first event of this scale implemented at the behest of President Vladimir Putin as part of the national project "Youth and Children." According to the head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), Grigory Gurov, the event not only demonstrated the interest of the world’s youth in Russia but also became a launchpad for a number of international projects.
Thus, within the framework of the Gathering a BRICS business-mentoring program was launched, which will allow young entrepreneurs to receive support from successful businessmen from the member countries. In addition, an international content center created jointly with DVFM and the New Media Workshop was launched. It brought together bloggers from 34 countries who will be trained, share reliable information about Russia and promote its cultural and humanitarian values abroad.
Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin emphasized that the Gathering turned the city into a symbol of international unity and became a new starting point for youth initiatives. He expressed gratitude to the organizers and noted that Nizhny Novgorod once again confirmed its status as a leading city, this time on the international stage.
The vibrant program included more than 80 interactive events, master classes and discussions. More than 200 experts from 40 countries, including the USA, Germany, Brazil, Ghana and the United Kingdom, shared their knowledge and experience with participants.
In addition to the business program, the organizers paid attention to the cultural component. Guests enjoyed performances by creative ensembles, DJ sets, joint media projects and even the setting of a Russian record for phygital dances.
The General Director of the Directorate of the World Youth Festival, Dmitry Ivanov, said that the Gathering became a living example of how a multipolar world is built on mutual respect, dialogue and a striving for a common future. He expressed hope that participants will continue to interact and meet again — at the International Youth Festival in Krasnoyarsk in 2025.
Participants of the Gathering noted the hospitality, the atmosphere of unity and the beauty of Nizhny Novgorod, which became not just a venue but a true symbol of openness and friendship.
