Incidents. The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed that a report be provided on the progress of the criminal investigation related to violations of the rights of residents of dilapidated apartment buildings and dormitories in the Sovietsky District of Nizhny Novgorod.
Earlier, the media reported on the critical condition of about 20 apartment buildings located in the area of Beketov, Shorin and Pushkin streets. These buildings were constructed in the 1950s as temporary housing and have not undergone major repairs since.
It is reported that the roofs are leaking, load-bearing structures are deteriorating, engineering systems are worn out, and the electrical wiring is in an emergency condition. In some premises interfloor slabs have collapsed. Despite some buildings being recognized as dilapidated, only one of them is included in the resettlement program.
Residents have repeatedly appealed to various authorities, but their appeals have not produced tangible results.
The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Nizhny Novgorod Region is conducting a criminal case under Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence). As part of the investigation, the information published in the mass media will be verified.
Alexander Bastrykin demanded that the head of the regional Investigative Committee, Ayrat Akhmetshin, submit a detailed report with interim and final results of the investigation.
The progress of the order's execution has been placed under control at the central office of the Investigative Committee.
Earlier the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation requested a report on a house in Dzerzhinsk flooded with sewage.
