The "Biometrics at the MFC" campaign has launched in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The first 50 clients who receive a service at the MFC not by passport but by biometrics will be issued a 3,000-ruble voucher for purchases on marketplaces, the regional government’s press service said.
The campaign is valid at 16 branches of the regional Center. Any legally capable Russian citizen over 18 whose biometric data have already been entered into the Unified Biometric System at the time of filing an application at the MFC can take part. A verified account on the Gosuslugi portal is also required.
Svetlana Musarskaya, director of the MFC of the Nizhny Novgorod region, explained that QR codes for participation and for consent to the processing of personal data are placed at the entrance to each of the 16 branches. When an applicant receives a service using biometrics instead of a passport, the employee offers to scan the QR code to participate. To confirm participation, within 48 hours of the visit it is necessary to send an email to the organizers with the full name, SNILS number and the date the service was received via identification.
Biometric data can be submitted at bank branches listed on the Bank of Russia’s website.
At the same time, for some services where this is provided, a scanned passport attached to the rest of the document package will still be required.
Earlier it was reported that Nizhny Novgorod residents can turn to MFC branches for help installing the MAX messenger.
