The relay race for the Nizhegorodskaya Pravda prizes took place in Nizhny Novgorod.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, the traditional athletics relay organized by the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the newspaper Nizhegorodskaya Pravda took place.

      According to pravda-nn.ru, this year the event was held for the 76th time under the auspices of the regional authorities and for the 99th time by the newspaper. The next race, scheduled for autumn 2026, will be the jubilee — the 100th.

      The competition was timed to coincide with the All-Russian Running Day and brought together teams from different parts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. A total of 167 teams took part in the relay, including schoolchildren, students, representatives of sports clubs and work collectives.

      The race took place in the area around the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium. Participants competed in various age and professional categories, demonstrating not only their athletic ability but also team spirit.

      Winners and prizewinners were congratulated and awarded by the event's honorary guests. Among them were the 2004 Olympic champion in the discus, chairperson of the Federation of Athletics of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Natalya Sadova; the region's deputy minister of sport Vladimir Kholopov; the editor-in-chief of Nizhegorodskaya Pravda, Larisa Avdeeva; and the head of the department for production and distribution of print media of the regional information center, Mikhail Bykov.

      Earlier it was reported that Muay Thai fighters from Nizhny Novgorod won 12 medals at the World Championship in Abu Dhabi.
