The quarantine for African swine fever has been lifted in Voskresensky District.

Authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod Region lifted the quarantine on African swine fever (ASF) that had previously been in effect in the settlement of Kalinikha in the Voskresensky Municipal District. This is stated in a decree of the governor posted on the official publication of regulatory acts website.

      The quarantine, imposed in July 2025, was officially lifted on 16 September. However, despite the cancellation of the regime, strict restrictions remain in force in the territory of the epizootic focus, the threatened zone and the surveillance zone.

      For 180 days from the date of the quarantine cancellation, it is forbidden to transport pigs, their slaughter and processing products without heat treatment (at least 70°C) outside the surveillance zone. An exception is made for farms assigned to compartments III and IV, which are excluded from the zones in accordance with the Veterinary Rules.

      The sale of pigs is also restricted within the threatened zone and the surveillance zone. Sales are permitted only to farms that meet the specified compartments and have been removed from the restricted territories.

      In addition, for a period of one year it is prohibited to restock farms with new pigs in the territory of the epizootic focus and the threatened zone.

      For 180 days after the ASF diagnosis is established, veterinary services must continue monitoring the health of domestic pigs and wild boar. Biological and pathological material will also be collected and submitted for laboratory testing.
