The outcome of EDG-2025 — a convincing victory for "United Russia".
Based on the results of the three-day voting, United Russia proved that it remains the most serious political force to date, Secretary of the party’s General Council Vladimir Yakushev emphasized at a TASS briefing on the results of Single Voting Day 2025 (EDG-2025).
The party achieved significant successes in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Thus, according to preliminary voting results in the regional center, the new first convocation of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma will be formed of United Russia deputies by roughly 70%.
"The results shown by United Russia’s candidates are very respectable. As a result of fair competitive struggle, out of 39 mandates in the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma the party won 28. And, of course, this is the merit of many people. Voters’ support is the result of work that delivers real positive outcomes. We all see how Nizhny Novgorod has been transformed before our eyes over the past few years. Urban improvement is systemic work carried out according to a long-term plan and the coordinated efforts of the governor’s team. Deputies of the City Duma’s new convocation will have to solve many difficult problems and current tasks, and build a development strategy for a territory that has become significantly larger. But we are ready for any challenges," said Evgeny Chintsov, chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma and a member of United Russia’s General Council.
Voting in the Nizhny Novgorod Region took place in 29 municipal formations. According to preliminary data, 428 deputy mandates were filled as a result of the elections. Of these, 337 deputies were nominated by United Russia. The 2025 elections in the Nizhny Novgorod Region concluded with an indisputable advantage for the party’s Nizhny Novgorod regional branch.
Turnout in the Nizhny Novgorod Region was 25.80% of the voters included in the voter lists.
In other regions of the Russian Federation at EDG-2025 the party nominated 19 candidates for the positions of the highest regional officials: all of them received strong support from local residents.
"There were 11 campaigns for legislative assemblies, 464 mandates were at stake, and preliminarily United Russia will receive 380. In administrative centers there were 25 campaigns, 934 mandates were at stake, and preliminarily we should receive 729," explained General Council Secretary Vladimir Yakushev.
According to Vladimir Yakushev, support for United Russia on party lists in elections to legislative assemblies increased by 13% compared with 2020. This year the party is receiving almost 82% of mandates — compared with 73.9% five years ago, the General Council secretary said.
The average percentage in EDG-2020 was 47.6% on the party list. Back then the party obtained 73.9% of the total number of mandates. This year the party list received support from 60.6% of voters, and United Russia — almost 82% of the filled mandates: 380 out of 464.
Vladimir Yakushev paid special attention to the situation in the Belgorod Region, where, despite difficult conditions, the party achieved a fairly high result on the party list.
"Belgorod Region is a border area that today operates under special conditions. States of emergency have been declared in a number of territories, and the conduct of the election campaign, of course, took place in very difficult circumstances. We received: 90% of mandates (45 out of 50) in the regional duma; by districts — 24 out of 25. Turnout was 58.5%, the party list result was 73.1%," he said.
According to preliminary data, among the winners are 837 participants of the special military operation, and the final results are expected to show that this figure will be several times higher compared with last year, when it was 312 people.
United Russia will analyze and draw conclusions based on the results of EDG-2025. At the same time, the party has already begun preparing for the 2026 elections with a broad federal agenda and campaign.
"A lot of work will need to be done. This includes a new party program and collecting voters’ directives," he emphasized.
In conclusion Vladimir Yakushev added that, since United Russia is the President’s party, consolidation around the party leader is reflected in its position.
"This is an objective and indisputable factor. As for our internal work, we believe this has likewise affected it, and I think it will continue to have a positive impact," he said.
At the same time, any party organization is, first and foremost, strong because of the people working on the ground, directly with voters, who then cast their votes on Single Voting Day in support of United Russia, the General Council secretary stressed.
"Therefore we have stepped up our work with them, and will continue to ramp up efforts in this direction. I am confident this will only yield positive results in the future, which we will see on Single Voting Day. This is precisely the result and assessment of our work — how seriously the country’s citizens support us today," he concluded.
Recall that on Single Voting Day elections at various levels were held in 81 regions of the Russian Federation. Direct elections of heads took place in 20 regions, deputies to 11 legislative assemblies and 25 dumas of administrative centers were elected — 1,419 mandates were filled at these levels. Election campaigns were also held for local self-government bodies.
United Russia opened federal and regional situational centers to monitor the elections across the country. The party also prepared 60,000 observers. Overall across the country more than 49,000 precinct election commissions and more than 1,600 territorial election commissions were involved.
