Society — The Ministry of Ecology of the Nizhny Novgorod Region carried out an unscheduled on-site inspection of JSC "Lyskovsky Brewery" at the initiative of the Volga Interregional Environmental Prosecutor's Office. This was reported by "Kommersant-Privolzhye."
Specialists from the accredited laboratory of the State Budgetary Institution of the Nizhny Novgorod Region "Ecology of the Region" tested the wastewater discharged by the enterprise into the centralized sewage system. The test results showed exceedances of permissible concentrations of a number of pollutants.
Following the inspection, an act was drawn up and a protocol on an administrative offense was issued under Article 8.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. This article provides for liability for noncompliance with environmental requirements in the operation of enterprises and other facilities.
However, the brewery's management disagreed with the commission's findings. The company filed a lawsuit in the arbitration court demanding that the conclusions regarding violations of environmental standards be removed from the inspection report.
The Ministry of Ecology said it does not share the company's position. "The Ministry of Ecology of the Nizhny Novgorod Region disagrees with the arguments set out in the brewery's complaint and considers them illegal, unfounded and untenable," the agency emphasized.
The arbitration court will make the final decision on the dispute.
Earlier it was reported that, by court decision, a section of the shore of the Gorky Reservoir in Chkalovsk will be returned to the state.
