      Former head of the administrative office of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Yuri Bortnikov, will remain under house arrest until October 9, 2025, inclusive. This was reported to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" by the regional court's press service.

      The decision was made by the Moskovsky District Court on September 5.

      Recall that Bortnikov was detained in February 2025. Investigators believe he is involved in the embezzlement of large sums from the budget. Bortnikov himself and his lawyers deny all the charges.

      On August 5 of this year, Bortnikov's preventive measure was changed — instead of being held in custody he was transferred to house arrest.

      Earlier it was reported that the court had softened the measure of restraint for the head of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Alexander Paramonov. He was also placed under house arrest.
