      On September 15 in Pakgauzy, the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Evgeny Lyulin, presented forestry workers with keys to new equipment, and the most distinguished employees were awarded the first honorary titles in the region's history. The speaker later wrote about the significant achievements of Nizhny Novgorod specialists on his social media.

      "Celebrating Forester and Gamekeeper Day at the Strelka, today we handed over dozens of snowmobiles, boats, and vehicles for controlling unmanned systems. It's hard to believe that just 10 years ago we didn't know how to equip foresters and were paying them modest salaries," Evgeny Lyulin shared.

      "Now this work is prestigious and requires knowledge of digital technologies. I remember when we installed the first three video cameras in the forest; now the situation is monitored by a whole ecosystem — with its own drone group. The forests are on a digital register controlled by artificial intelligence," the chairman of the regional parliament noted.

      Evgeny Lyulin also emphasized the economic and social role of the forest sector for the region. "Forest wealth is not a figure of speech, but half a billion in taxes to the budget of the Nizhny Novgorod Region alone since the beginning of the year. And also jobs, and tourist potential," the chairman of the Legislative Assembly stressed.

      Separately, the speaker recalled one of the architects of the industry's modern successes. "We fondly remembered Vladimir Albertovich Lebedev, who, as deputy governor and later head of Russia's forestry sector, made a huge contribution to the development of the forest complex. We all remember the terrible fires of 2010. Back then some said that this outburst of the elements was inevitable. But 15 years have passed, and the forests no longer burn. Small ignitions are extinguished within hours. We restore 15,000 hectares of forest annually — a third more than the average in the Volga Federal District," Evgeny Lyulin wrote.

      "Such progress is the result of a great collective effort. Today I shook hands with the first honored workers of the forestry and hunting economy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The Legislative Assembly established these honorary titles as a sign of great respect! Thank you to all my colleagues — foresters and gamekeepers — for your conscientious work! We are very proud of you!" the chairman of the Legislative Assembly concluded.
