      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, firefighters extinguished 10 fires over the past day. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region.

      Fires were recorded in the Urensky and Buturlinsky municipal districts, as well as in the Nizhny Novgorod and Sovetsky districts of Nizhny Novgorod. The objects that caught fire included private houses and apartment buildings, structures on plots and vehicles. Garbage and grass also caught fire four times.

      No one was killed or injured in the fires. Evacuation was also not required. Residents of Nizhny Novgorod are reminded that high fire danger for forests and peatlands is expected in the region on September 16 and 17. In this regard, it is recommended to refrain from lighting bonfires on plots and near forested areas, and not to leave trash and glass in open sunny areas.
