The Sport Commission of the Kontinental Hockey League summed up the opening week of the Fonbet KHL Championship for the 2025/2026 season. Based on statistical data from the Central Information Bureau and analytical assessment, the best players in four categories were determined.
In the first ten days of the championship, 39 matches were played. They involved 524 hockey players, including 36 goaltenders, 176 defensemen and 312 forwards. The average scoring rate was 5.54 goals per game.
The best forward of the week was Sergei Goncharuk of Nizhny Novgorod’s Torpedo. He recorded 6 points (3 goals and 3 assists) in four games with a plus-minus of +1. In addition, he had 13 hits, three blocked shots, two takeaways and one interception. This is the second such title of his career.
In the "Best Goaltender" category the winner was Patrik Ribar of the Shanghai Dragons. He played three games, in two of which his team won. The goaltender posted a save percentage of 92.92% on 113 shots faced, and his goals-against average was 2.6. This is the third time Ribar has received such recognition.
For the first time the best defenseman of the week was Ioannis Kaldis, representing Severstal Cherepovets. In four games he recorded 4 points (1 goal and 3 assists), which put him in the lead among defensemen.
In the "Best Rookie" category Matvey Polyakov of SKA was noted. In four games he registered 2 points (1 goal and 1 assist) and a plus-minus of +1. This is his first recognition in this category.
