      The elections of deputies to the first convocation of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma have been declared held, and their results valid. This decision was made at a meeting of the Electoral Commission of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the agency reported on its official Telegram channel.

      The commission approved consolidated data on the use of ballots and officially recorded the overall voting results. As a result, 39 deputies in single-mandate constituencies have been recognized as elected.

      "No violations capable of affecting the election results during the campaign for the elections of deputies to the first convocation of the Nizhny Novgorod Duma, as well as on voting days, were identified," said the chair of the regional election commission, Margarita Andreeva.

      Earlier it was reported that all incumbent deputies who ran for a new term retained their mandates. As a result of the elections, the United Russia party won 28 seats in the new Duma. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) — five mandates, the LDPR — three, A Just Russia — two, the New People party — one.
