      New details have emerged about the brutal beating of a pensioner by teenagers in the Gorodetsky District. The investigation is examining the involvement not only of the teenagers but also of an adult woman.

      According to the prosecutor’s office and the investigative directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, it has been established that the suspect not only incited the minors to commit the crime but also took part in beating the elderly woman. The pensioner sustained injuries of moderate severity. She is in hospital.

      Criminal cases have been opened on intentional infliction of moderate bodily harm (Part 2 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and on involving minors in committing a crime (Part 2 of Article 150 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

      The instigator was detained. The court remanded her in custody until 1 November 2025.

      As part of the investigation, a range of investigative measures is being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident and to collect evidence. The progress of the case is under the supervision of the supervisory authority.

      It was also reported that the head of the Investigative Committee twice requested a report on the progress of the investigation. In addition, it became known that the children who participated in the brutal beating of the elderly woman in the settlement named after Timiryazev were removed from their families.
