Any adult can become a volunteer searcher. No special training is required at the start. This was stated in an interview with NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" by the press secretary of PSO "Volunteer", Katerina Bolshakova.
The main requirement, according to Bolshakova, is having free time and a willingness to help.
"In the team there are people of various professions. It's enough to go out on a search — a newcomer will be paired with an experienced volunteer. Later one can undergo training in navigation, compass use and radio communication," she explained.
According to her, the organization does not receive government funding. All equipment, food and fuel are paid for by the volunteers themselves, with the exception of individual grants that are directed toward the purchase of equipment.
Recall that in August more than 200 people went missing in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
It was also reported that a 110-year-old pensioner from Arzamas was found alive after three days in the forest.
