Incidents
Children involved in the brutal beating of an elderly woman in the settlement named after Timiryazev were removed from their families. This was reported on his Telegram channel by the district head Alexander Mudrov.
According to him, the commission on juvenile affairs filed a lawsuit to terminate the mother's parental rights. Earlier, the court granted a motion to impose interim measures, and as a result the children were taken from the family on Friday.
As Mudrov clarified, by agreement with the Ministry of Social Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region they were placed in a temporary accommodation center. The boy who is considered the primary suspect is in a specialized medical facility.
The injured woman continues to receive treatment. After it is completed, the investigative authorities will be able to assess the severity of the harm caused.
Recall that a group of teenagers, including an 8‑year‑old girl, for several days abused an elderly woman. The minors shaved the pensioner bald, then broke her ribs and legs. The students filmed everything and later posted it online. It was reported that criminal cases were opened for intentional infliction of bodily harm (Part 2 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and hooliganism (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). It was also noted that the parents of two of the teenagers are on a preventive register.
The incident drew the attention of the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin — he twice demanded a report on the progress of the investigation. In addition, information emerged about the possible involvement of an adult woman who allegedly incited the teenagers to the attack. The Investigative Committee reported that a case has been opened under Article 150 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — "involving a minor in the commission of a crime."
