      The total volume of mortgage housing loans in banks of the Nizhny Novgorod region as of August 1, 2025 amounted to 304.5 billion rubles, reports IA "Vremya N".

      According to the Volgo-Vyatka Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia, the mortgage portfolio in the region has decreased by 0.5% since the beginning of the current year. Despite the slight decrease in total volume, overdue debt is increasing.

      According to the regulator, the amount of overdue mortgage loans reached 1.6 billion rubles, which is 0.5% of the total portfolio. By comparison, as of January 1, 2025 this figure was 1.1 billion rubles, or 0.4%.

      Thus, over the seven months of the current year the volume of overdue loans grew by half a billion rubles, and its share in the total portfolio increased by 0.1 percentage point.

      Earlier, an expert gave a forecast on the outlook for the mortgage lending market in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
