The Nizhny Novgorod Personnel Center employed more than seven thousand teenagers last summer.

      The Nizhny Novgorod Personnel Center "Work of Russia" has summed up the results of its summer campaign for the temporary employment of underage citizens. This season, with the assistance of the employment service, more than 7,000 teenagers aged 14 to 18 found work. More than 300 employers in the region provided jobs for them.

      "The temporary employment program for teenagers is not just a side job during the holidays, but an opportunity for young people to acquire their first professional skills, understand the value of work and earn their own money. Enterprises also achieve their objectives: they can make use of the help of underage employees in performing simple but necessary tasks, and also take a look at potential future staff," said Igor Pantyukhin, head of the Department for Labor and Employment of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      "Teenagers who had already turned 14 could find work for the summer holidays. Parental consent was required to submit an application, and for those who had not yet turned 15 permission from guardianship authorities was also necessary. The employment service guarantees minor applicants official employment, safe working conditions and timely payments," said Lyudmila Yegorova, director of the Nizhny Novgorod Personnel Center "Work of Russia."

      The most active employers of youth were industrial enterprises; housing and communal services and agricultural organizations; educational and medical institutions; as well as trade and catering businesses.

      Teenagers were employed in a wide range of areas: from landscaping and greening to assisting in cultural and educational institutions. The most popular positions were couriers, packers, pickers, promoters, counselor assistants and sales consultants.

      Recall that since 2025, at the instruction of President Vladimir Putin, the national project "Personnel" has been in effect in Russia. It includes four federal projects: "Labor Market Management", "Active Employment Support Measures", "Education for the Labor Market" and "The Working Person". The activities of the national project are aimed at preparing personnel promptly and to a high standard to meet employers' needs through the coordinated work of educational institutions, companies and the state.
