Residents of Nizhny Novgorod continue to vote actively at their polling stations. Voters are coming to the polls with entire families, bringing pets and even using the day for romantic surprises. According to the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of "United Russia," an unusual event occurred in Chkalovsk: a member of a precinct commission was proposed to.

"It was amazingly touching and unexpected! Such a romantic gesture was a gift for everyone present. We warmly congratulated the lovers, wished them great happiness, faithful love and mutual understanding. May voting together at elections become a good family tradition for them!" shared Elena Galkina, executive secretary of the Chkalovsk local branch of "United Russia."

For more than 16,000 residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the 2025 elections were their first-ever. Pleasant gifts were prepared for young voters at all polling stations.

In the Urensky municipal district, the oldest resident and home-front worker, Semyon Semyonovich Reutov, sets an example for his neighbors. This year the man turned 92. But, as before, he was the first to arrive at the polling station. According to relatives, Semyon Semyonovich is an example of an active citizen and a true patriot of his small homeland. Despite his age, he retains vigor of spirit and interest in everything happening around him.

At the polling station located in the building of Lyceum No. 8 named after Acad. Fyodorov in the Nizhegorodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod, the tradition of voting as families has been upheld for decades. Many voters are former students of the school, and they happily return to their alma mater.

"We have formed a wonderful family tradition — to come to our beloved school every time to express our civic position. I hope it will influence the future, and that children will be able to grow, develop and receive an education in worthy conditions, anticipating a bright tomorrow," shared Nizhny Novgorod resident Anastasia Murzakova.

In the Balakhna municipal district, the elections became an occasion to recall traditions. Women from Balakhna came to the polling station in traditional Russian costumes. According to the women, their outfits are meant to say that when voting for the future, one must not forget a rich past.

"The voting process shows that Nizhny Novgorod residents treat their electoral right responsibly and actively exercise it. But I also consider it necessary to note that for many the elections are truly a celebration. Because it is important to people that they can actually influence the future of their native region. It is important that their vote matters," emphasized Viktor Lunin, deputy secretary of the NRO "United Russia" and head of the regional public reception office of the party chairman of "United Russia."

We remind you that in the Nizhny Novgorod region the main elections are being held for deputies of the city dumas of Nizhny Novgorod, Dzerzhinsk and Sarov, as well as elections to the Councils of Deputies of the urban districts: the cities of Kulebaki, Bor, Chkalovsk, Navashinsky, and the municipal districts of Balakhna, Bogorodsk, Buturlinsky, Vadka, Diveyevo, Kovernino, Lyskovsky, Pavlovo, Pochinki, Tonshaevsky, and Uren.
