Society. With the arrival of the harvest season, agricultural fairs are being organized in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Thus, in September, 20 "Buy Nizhny Novgorod" fairs (0+) will be held in 18 municipalities of the region, where entrepreneurs and self-employed people will be able to present their goods to the region’s residents.

However, as Rospotrebnadzor pointed out, agricultural products are sold not only at organized markets but also at spontaneous food markets, where buyers should observe simple but effective hygiene rules that will help prevent food poisoning and intestinal infections.

When choosing products, pay attention to the stalls: they should be clean, and the products neatly arranged and protected from dust and dirt. Packaging of ready-made dishes should be intact and sealed.

Avoid dubious products such as milk, meat, and fish from sellers who cannot confirm their quality and safety. These products require strict control and compliance with sanitary standards. Use thermally insulated containers to transport products, especially perishable goods, and put them in the refrigerator immediately after purchase.

Thoroughly wash vegetables and fruits under running water, especially if they will be consumed raw. Avoid raw or undercooked food, especially for children, the elderly, and people with chronic illnesses.

If symptoms of an intestinal infection appear, such as nausea, vomiting, high fever, or abdominal pain, seek medical attention immediately. If you suspect that the illness is linked to a specific product, be sure to report it to the territorial offices of Rospotrebnadzor. This will help conduct an inspection and prevent similar cases in the future. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
