Last night a fire broke out in the center of Nizhny Novgorod in a building with a century-long history — merchant Guzeev’s shop at 140/2 Ilyinskaya Street.
According to the press service of the regional branch of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM), the fire affected 150 square meters. Forty-five agency personnel fought the fire, and 13 pieces of equipment were used.
As a result, no one was injured. Investigators will determine the cause of the fire.
It should be added that the building was erected in 1917 and was originally used as a commercial premises. In recent years the house had stood empty — its residents had been rehoused, and the building, managed by the ANO "ASIRIS", was being prepared for transfer to an investor for restoration work.
Earlier it was reported that the fire occurred at a ship-repair plant in Gorodets, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.
