At 20:00 on 14 September voting concluded in the elections across the Nizhny Novgorod Region. All polling stations in the region closed to voters, and precinct election commissions began the vote-counting procedure.
As the election commission noted, the counting of voters' ballots begins immediately after the end of voting and is carried out without interruption until the results are established. Observers from political parties, candidates, the Public Chamber of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and accredited media representatives continue to work at the polling stations.
Recall that as of 18:00 overall voter turnout across the region reached 24.66%; turnout in the election for deputies of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma was 20.41%.
Final data on the number of voters who participated in the voting will also become known after the completion of the vote-counting procedure.
Recall that voting was three days long; polling stations operated on 12, 13 and 14 September from 8:00 to 20:00. The elections were held in 25 municipal and 4 urban districts, including Nizhny Novgorod.
