      In the Semenovsky Urban District, a patriotic project called “Heroes of the Semenovsky Region,” aimed at the youngest residents of the area, is being implemented. An educational program introducing younger children to the history of their small homeland and the contribution of Semenov residents to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War has been developed for them. The central element of the project is a coloring book titled “Color the History of Victory!”

      “The idea came about a long time ago. It was born when my colleagues and I were thinking about how to engage and involve younger children in studying the history of their native region. To make the process informative and interesting, we developed a special coloring book dedicated to our memorial sites and our heroes. It encourages children not only to use their imagination but also to touch the history of their native land and feel pride for their ancestors. And now, thanks to the grant, we were finally able to print our coloring book and give it to the children,” explained Nadezhda Grishina, executive secretary of the local branch of the United Russia party in the Semenovsky Urban District.

      The project was implemented as part of events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. At an open lesson, the children heard stories about heroes from Semenov. The cultural part of the program consisted of wartime songs. The famous “Katyusha” was sung with equal zest by adults and children.

      “It was very interesting. I learned a lot about those who lived in Semenov and fought in the war against the fascists. My mother told me that my great-grandfather also took part in the war,” shared Anfisa Kolobova, a participant in the event “In Memory of the Heroes of the Semenovsky Region.”

      “Heroes of the Semenovsky Region” are among the winners of the “Primary Unit of Good Deeds” grant competition of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the United Russia party.

      “Events for patriotic education are a very important direction of work with the younger generation. The ‘Heroes of the Semenovsky Region’ project immediately interested us, and as a result it became one of the winners of the regional competition. Similar events should take place in every corner of our Nizhny Novgorod region and across the country. This is what will help future generations remember and honor the memory of our heroes. Without the past there is no future. We will do everything on our part to ensure that such events take place as often as possible and at the same high level,” emphasized Seiran Iskenderov, head of the regional council of primary branches of the United Russia party. The meeting with the children took place within the framework of the party project “Historical Memory.”

      Let us recall that preserving historical memory and cultural heritage is a priority task of United Russia’s people’s program. The project assists in the patriotic education of youth, counters attempts to falsify history, and provides social support to participants and disabled persons of the Great Patriotic War.
