      Society. A new playground has appeared in the yard of building No. 29 on Julius Fučík Street in Nizhny Novgorod. Its installation became possible thanks to an initiative by local residents, which was supported by deputies and social community police officers. Residents had long sought a solution to this issue, and through joint efforts they achieved a result.

      Social community police officer Marina Bezrukova noted that children should have the opportunity to play, socialize and spend more time outdoors, and it is the adults' task to provide them with comfortable and safe conditions. According to her, that is why the residents' appeal regarding the installation of the playground was treated with particular attention, and thanks to the support of the authorities a modern play area appeared in the yard.

      The work was financed from the city budget. The contractor prepared the site, laid down impact-absorbing surfacing, and installed play equipment — slides, swings and a sandbox. Benches and trash bins were also placed around the area for the convenience of residents.

      Local resident Nadezhda Sazanova said that previously there had not been a single playground in the yard, despite the fact that several apartment buildings with many families are nearby. Parents had to take their children to neighboring streets. Now children can play near their home, and the playground, she said, turned out to be convenient and safe.

      Residents are already using the new recreation area, and the social community police officers continue to monitor territories that could be included in future improvement projects.
