Politics The governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Gleb Nikitin, addressed Pierre de Gaulle, the grandson of the legendary French general and president Charles de Gaulle, with an offer to move to the region with his family. He published a post on his Telegram channel after media reports emerged about Pierre de Gaulle's intention to relocate to Russia.

In a conversation with TASS, Pierre de Gaulle said that he plans to obtain Russian citizenship for the sake of his children's future. He expressed hope for support from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and explained his choice by his desire to provide his children with a decent education and to shield them from, as he put it, "the fall of values taking place in the Western world."

Gleb Nikitin emphasized that Nizhny Novgorod Oblast has all the opportunities for a comfortable life for foreign citizens who share traditional values. He noted that the regional agency "OKA" has extensive experience in supporting families who have decided to move to Russia.

"Mr. de Gaulle's opinion of Russia is very valuable! I'm sure he will like our Nizhny Novgorod, 100% real Russia!" added the head of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

Earlier, Nikitin reported that more than 600 applications to relocate to Nizhny Novgorod Oblast had been received from foreigners.

Recall that recently a French family permanently relocated to our region.
