A woman from the Vyksa urban district is accused of embezzlement.

      The Vyksa City Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region is considering a criminal case against K., who is accused of committing an offense under part 2 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (embezzlement, i.e., misappropriation of another’s property entrusted to the guilty party, committed causing significant damage to a citizen).

      According to the preliminary investigation, on July 28, 2025, the accused K. was visiting her acquaintance T., where they were drinking alcoholic beverages together. To make a phone call and listen to music, T. handed his mobile phone to K. When T. fell asleep, the accused, who was intoxicated, formed a criminal intent aimed at stealing the mobile phone in question.

      Having taken the stolen property, acting intentionally, from mercenary motives, and being aware of the wrongful nature of her actions, K. handed over the mobile phone belonging to her acquaintance T. to a person not identified by the investigation in exchange for money, thereby causing him significant material damage by her actions.

      A restraining measure in the form of an undertaking not to leave and to behave properly has been chosen in respect of the accused.
