      In the Avtozavodsky District, 100 old abandoned lamp posts are being removed. According to the district administration, the work is taking place on 80 streets, including Orekhovskaya, Raevskogo, Loskutova, Tolbukhina, Afanasyeva and Strokina. This was reported by the press service of the Administration of Nizhny Novgorod. The head of the district, Alexander Nagin, together with City Duma deputy Maria Kuznetsova, inspected the progress of the dismantling. Nagin explained that the poles are outdated, damaged, and hinder repair and upgrades. Some lines have already been moved to new supports. Additional funds from the city budget were allocated for this work; contractors plan to remove and dispose of all the poles by the end of October.

      On Orekhovskaya Street, the wires from the wooden poles have already been moved to a new line. According to the contractor director Artem Larkin, the poles are first torn out by a tractor, then sawed up, loaded onto a truck and taken to the dump. Work sites are fenced off to ensure the safety of both pedestrians and workers.
