      World War II veteran Margarita Viktorovna Vlasova turned 95 years old. Representatives of the Leninsky District administration congratulated her on the anniversary. Deputy head of the district Maria Krendyaseva visited the veteran, presented her with flowers and a commemorative gift, and conveyed congratulations from the head of the district, Sergey Lukoyanov. According to Krendyaseva, it is especially symbolic that Margarita Viktorovna is celebrating her anniversary in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

      "All her life Margarita Viktorovna Vlasova worked for the good of our country as a teacher of Russian language and literature. During the war years she worked steadfastly on the home front, alongside adults, bringing Victory closer. We all wish the birthday woman strong health, cheerfulness of spirit, and many more long, happy years surrounded by family and loved ones. May each day bring only joy and warmth!" Maria Krendyaseva wished.

      Margarita Viktorovna was very pleased with the guests' visit; she greeted them warmly and hospitably and thanked them for their attention.

      "It is very pleasant to receive congratulations and doubly joyful to receive them from the administration of my native district. I am always happy to have guests and am ready to welcome them every day," she said.

      Reference. Margarita Viktorovna Vlasova was born on September 3, 1930 in the settlement of Leninskaya Sloboda, Kstovsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Region, in a large family of eight children. After finishing school she graduated from the Gorky Pedagogical Institute, and by assignment was sent to work as a teacher of Russian language and literature in the Chernukhinsky District. She later moved to the settlement of Rabotki, where she was elected first secretary of the district Komsomol committee. In 1957 she led the delegation from the Rabotkinsky District to the World Festival of Youth in Moscow. During the Great Patriotic War she worked on the collective farm "Severny Polyus," where she sowed, planted and harvested crops, loaded them onto barges, and worked until late in the evening. For her work during the war she was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labour in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945" and jubilee medals.

      She worked as a teacher for 50 years. She holds the title "Veteran of Labour." She belongs to the social category "Great Patriotic War veteran — home front worker."
