In Turkey, tourists are discussing rumors about an unknown virus allegedly spreading on beaches. However, the Russian Union of the Travel Industry told the TV channel "360" that there have been no mass complaints from travelers.

The RST noted that the number of calls related to food poisoning and gastrointestinal illnesses traditionally increases in summer. The symptoms of such ailments are often similar, and the exact cause can only be determined through medical tests.

Travelers are reminded: at the first signs of illness they should contact their insurance company, travel agent, or guide. The main recommendations remain unchanged — wash fruits and vegetables, maintain personal hygiene, and use hand sanitizers.

The discussion was prompted by a post on the Telegram channel Shot, which reported dozens of Russians falling ill in August after swimming on Turkish beaches. According to the channel, the cause was allegedly the bacterium Vibrio, which lives in warm salt water and can enter the body through seafood. It is especially dangerous for people with weakened immune systems and for children.

Some vacationers reported cases of vomiting, weakness, and high fever after swimming, as well as long queues at private clinics in Alanya.

However, some tourists do not confirm these reports. For example, a holidaymaker, Viktoria, who has been in Alanya since the end of August, said that none of the guests at the Eos Beach Resort had encountered such symptoms. According to her, vacationers are swimming actively and feeling well, and pharmacies are operating as usual, without any rush.

The RST emphasizes that it continues to monitor the situation.

Earlier, tour operators named the main advantages of vacationing in Turkey.
