      The reconstruction project of Tram Depot No. 1 in Nizhny Novgorod has received a positive conclusion from the state expertise. This was reported on the EGRZ portal.

      The facility is located at 1 General Ivliev Street. The depot reconstruction is part of a large-scale project to create a property complex of surface electric public transport in Nizhny Novgorod. It is one of the stages of modernizing the city's tram infrastructure, which began in 2022.

      The design documentation and engineering surveys were prepared by LLC "Modern Tram Structures. Construction"; the technical customers are JSC "Corporation for the Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" and LLC "EM-EM-TI Rus". The project's developer is LLC "Ecological Projects".

      Recall that under the program it is planned to reconstruct 150 kilometers of tram tracks, 15 traction substations and three tram depots, and to purchase 170 modern tram cars. The total volume of investment exceeds 50 billion rubles.

      To date, more than 90 kilometers of new tracks have already been built. In 2025 it is planned to complete the expertise of the remaining sections and begin reconstruction of eight more substations. Construction of Depot No. 2 is proceeding on schedule and should be completed by the end of 2026. Documentation for Depot No. 3 is still under development.

      Earlier it was reported that the Gordeevsky viaduct was excluded from the concession agreement for the upgrade of the tram lines. Instead, repairs will be carried out on Ilyinskaya Street.
