"Nizhegorodelectrotrans" recovered more than 6 million rubles from a contractor.

      September 5, 2025 14:58 [162] Society. The Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region satisfied the claim of the state enterprise "Nizhegorodelectrotrans" against the road construction company "AlmazAtom" and ordered the defendant to pay more than 6.1 million rubles.

      According to the case materials, the parties entered into a contract on June 30, 2022 for the reconfiguration of the contact network and tram tracks of Kremlin Boulevard. However, the company did not fully perform its obligations, which served as grounds for going to court.

      "Nizhegorodelectrotrans" sought to recover from the contractor 5,144,094 rubles and 13 kopecks of principal debt, as well as 971,783 rubles and 81 kopecks in penalties for the period from June 15, 2023 to June 24, 2024. In addition, the plaintiff asked to accrue an additional penalty calculated at 1/300 of the current key rate of the Bank of Russia for each day of delay starting from June 25, 2024 until the date of actual payment.

      The company "AlmazAtom" did not submit a written response to the claim and did not send its representative to the hearing.

      The court found the claims of "Nizhegorodelectrotrans" to be well-founded and ruled to grant the claim in full.

      It should be noted that the decision was made at the end of April, but "AlmazAtom" only attempted to challenge it in August and filed an appeal with the First Arbitration Court. The appellant asked to restore the deadline for filing the complaint, arguing that its representative had not been present in court and had not received the text of the decision. However, the court stated that such circumstances do not constitute valid reasons for missing the established deadline and denied consideration of the complaint.

      The ruling may be appealed to the Arbitration Court of the Volga-Vyatka District within one month.

      Earlier it became known that the Gordeevsky Viaduct was excluded from the concession for the reconstruction of the tram tracks.
