12 new agrotechnology classes began operating in schools in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Their creation is part of the federal project "Personnel in the Agro-Industrial Complex" of the national project "Technological Provision of Food Security," initiated by President Vladimir Putin.
Profile classes with an in-depth study of natural science subjects have been created in the schools of the Arzamas, Bogorodsk, Vetluzhsky, Volodarsky, Gorodetsky, Semyonovsky, Pochinkovsky, Shakhunsky and Urensky districts, as well as in the Kstovo district of Nizhny Novgorod. There are two classes each in the Gorodets municipal district and in the Kstovo district of Nizhny Novgorod.
Nikolai Denisov, Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, took part in the opening of the agrotechnology class at the Ilino-Zaborskaya School (Semyonovsky district) on September 3.
"As part of the federal project 'Personnel in the Agro-Industrial Complex,' 12 agrotechnology classes have been opened this year. Next year we plan to open another 10 classes. In the future, our goal is to have such classes in every rural school. A mandatory condition for a school's participation in the project is the presence of an industrial partner — a specific enterprise. It is that partner that invests funds in purchasing equipment, renovating the classroom, and paying teachers additional wages. We then reimburse up to 95 percent of the costs. For these purposes, 17 million rubles have been allocated in the 2025 budget," said Nikolai Denisov.
The minister emphasized that the creation of specialized classes to teach the basics of agricultural activity in the Nizhny Novgorod region has been underway since 2022, and during this time such classrooms have already started operating in 50 schools in the region.
"The national project, thanks to which partner enterprises are compensated for the majority of the costs of creating agrotechnology classes, has allowed us to activate and systematize this work, as well as involve more specialized organizations in training personnel for the agro-industrial complex," Nikolai Denisov stressed.
Ilino-Zaborskaya School provides pre-profile training "Agrotech Classes" in the fields of "Agroengineering," "Plant Genetics and Breeding," and "Efficient Animal Husbandry." To date, eight students study in the class. They study biology and chemistry in depth, and extracurricular activities and classes as part of additional education are also conducted.
"To equip this class we purchased high-performance laptops and virtual reality devices with software for the practical study of biology, chemistry, physics and astronomy. We have been involved in the agricultural sector before; the school already has a Rusich mini-tractor with a trailer, a 'smart' greenhouse with a hydroponic system, a training simulator 'Tractor-Student' and much more," said Alexander Rostovtsev, principal of Ilino-Zaborskaya School.
Alexey Stepanov, general director of the enterprise "Ilino-Zaborskoe," which acts as the school's industrial partner, noted that most of his organization's employees are also graduates of the school.
"Only by working with young people can you see the future of the village. Time does not stand still; you must always look forward. By purchasing equipment for this school, we looked at least three years ahead. The students have very engaging lessons ahead of them. I hope that during their studies they will immerse themselves in agricultural sciences and remain in the countryside. We, in turn, will do everything necessary for our village to prosper," Alexey Stepanov said.
Recall that from 2025, by order of President Vladimir Putin, the national project "Technological Provision of Food Security" came into effect in Russia. Its main goal is the development of Russia's agro-industrial complex and its technological independence to ensure the availability in the country of all necessary products and to provide greater opportunities to strengthen positions in the global market. The national project includes five federal projects: "Biotechnologies in the Agro-Industrial Complex," "Selection and Genetics," "Veterinary Drugs," "Machinery and Equipment for the Agro-Industrial Complex," and "Personnel in the Agro-Industrial Complex."
