More than 8,000 cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) were identified in the Nizhny Novgorod region from August 25 to 31, 2025, the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor reported.
According to the agency, rhinovirus and parainfluenza currently predominate among the infections; cases of adenoviruses, bocaviruses and mycoplasma have also been recorded.
Rospotrebnadzor reminds residents of the region of the need to follow preventive measures, especially during the seasonal rise in illness, and also recommends getting vaccinated against influenza.
Earlier it was reported that mass vaccination against influenza began in the Nizhny Novgorod region at the end of August.
It has also been reported that an increase in ARVI incidence in the region is expected in late September.
