      Specialists of the Nizhny Novgorod Testing Laboratory of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNIIZh" have detected nonconformities in dairy products. This was reported by the enterprise's press service.

      From August 25 to September 3, 2025, as part of food monitoring, staff of the laboratory's chemical-toxicological department analyzed samples of butter. As a result of the inspection, deviations were found in the indicator "Fatty acid composition."

      The study results were entered into the automated system "VESTA" and sent to the Rosselkhoznadzor Office for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Mari El for necessary measures to be taken.

      The fatty acid composition of dairy products characterizes the variety of fatty acids in milk fat. Consuming products with an altered composition can harm health, increasing the risk of cardiovascular and chronic diseases. Replacing milk fat with vegetable fats worsens taste and reduces the product's nutritional value, since natural butter contains important vitamins that are lost when predominantly saturated vegetable fats are added.

      In addition, excessive consumption of food additives present in such products can negatively affect health — disrupt gut microflora, cause allergies, and have a carcinogenic effect with long-term intake in large quantities.
