A former employee of a Nizhny Novgorod research institute will be convicted of taking a multimillion bribe.

      Incidents. In Nizhny Novgorod, the investigation into a criminal case against the former head of the production and technical support group of one of the research institutes has been completed. The woman is accused of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

      According to the investigation, from January 2024 to April 2025 she received more than 2 million rubles from a representative of a commercial organization. For this money the accused provided information about the department's supply of material and technical resources, assisted in concluding contracts for the supply of equipment, and facilitated timely payment for the products.

      The illegal activity was uncovered and stopped by investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia with the participation of operatives from the FSB Directorate for the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The court placed the woman under house arrest.

      At present, the criminal case with an approved indictment has been sent to court, where it will be considered on the merits.

      Earlier in Nizhny Novgorod three former research institute employees were convicted for taking bribes.
