Nizhny Novgorod residents will take part in the final of the All-Russian Sports and Healthy-Lifestyle Marathon "Land of Sport".

      On 20–21 September 2025 the final of the All‑Russian marathon of sport and healthy living “Land of Sport” will be held on the federal territory “Sirius” (Krasnodar Krai), with finalists of the regional stages from 67 federal subjects of the country taking part. Nizhny Novgorod Oblast will be represented at the competition by 15 athletes — winners of the regional stage in various disciplines.

      In the “power extreme” discipline the region has entered Yekaterina Abramenko from Dalnekonstantinovsky Municipal District and Alexey Zakharov from Lyskovsky Municipal District. Anton Rogov and Anastasia Ustinova from Semenovsky Urban District will take part in fulfilling the standards of the All‑Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex (GTO). The Zyuzin family from Pervomaisk will compete for victory in the family relay. Also, the volleyball team of Urensky Municipal District, which won the regional stage, will play in the marathon finals.

      “Three hundred sixty athletes from 21 municipal districts competed for the right to represent Nizhny Novgorod Oblast in the final of the All‑Russian marathon. The regional stage of ‘Land of Sport’ became a large‑scale celebration for all lovers of an active lifestyle. I thank all residents of rural areas for their interest in an active lifestyle and sport. We are doing everything possible to make physical education accessible to every resident of the region. I wish our athletes to perform with dignity in the final of the All‑Russian marathon ‘Land of Sport’! The whole region is cheering for you!” — emphasized Dmitry Kabaylo, Minister of Sport of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

      A cultural and entertainment program will be organized for guests and spectators of the sports festival. The venue will host the “I’m in AGRO” Agro Professions City, where visitors can learn about modern agricultural professions and technologies, attend interactive educational tracks, VR tours and master classes.

      The festival is held under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia with the support of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation.

      Recall that since 2025, by order of President Vladimir Putin, the state program “Development of Physical Culture and Sports” (state program “Sport of Russia”) has come into effect in Russia, carrying out the tasks previously provided for in the federal project “Sport is the Norm of Life” of the national project “Demography.”

      The state program “Sport of Russia” is aimed at creating and improving conditions for physical activity, popularizing mass sport and improving the quality of life and satisfaction of Russians. Within the program it is planned to expand sports infrastructure, hold mass sporting events, and encourage residents to participate in meeting the standards of the All‑Russian physical culture and sports complex “Ready for Labor and Defense” (GTO). The development of children’s sports will also continue in the country, and opportunities for veterans of the special military operation (SMO) to engage in sport will be expanded.
