There are no plans to expand the parking at Moskovsky Railway Station in Nizhny Novgorod.

      Residents and tourists visiting Nizhny Novgorod have expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of parking spaces in the area around Moskovsky railway station, reports pravda-nn.ru.

      According to them, the paid lot next to the station is almost always occupied — mainly by cars of employees of nearby organizations and retail outlets.

      To date, parking is organized on several sections near the station: under the metro bridge, at the station building itself (paid spaces), and also near the Respublika shopping center, where parking is free. However, even this number of spaces is insufficient, especially during peak hours.

      To improve the situation and ensure a more comfortable and safe drop-off of passengers in the station area, the city administration has developed a new traffic management scheme for Revolution Square. The Department of Transport and Road Facilities noted that the document has already been sent for coordination to the railway station management and to the State Traffic Inspectorate.

      If the project receives approval, the changes could be implemented this year. Authorities hope that the new scheme will help reduce congestion and relieve the public transport stop.

      At the same time, as the administration noted, it is impossible to expand the number of parking spaces near the station because dense urban development prevents this.

      Earlier it was reported that a new app for paying for parking is being launched in Nizhny Novgorod.
