      Uncertainty remains in the Nizhny Novgorod region regarding the construction of two schools — on Kosmicheskaya Street in Nizhny Novgorod and on Klyukvina Street in Dzerzhinsk. Work on the sites was suspended by a decision of the arbitration court following lawsuits filed by the former contractor — AMT Group.

      The Novosibirsk-based company was building both schools, each designed to accommodate 1,100 students. However, in the summer of 2025 the regional Development Corporation terminated the contracts with the contractor, citing violations, including deadlines for completion. After that, it assumed the role of general contractor.

      The Corporation told NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" that it conducted a technical examination of the sites, determined the scope and quality of the work completed, and found subcontractors to finish the construction. According to experts, the overall readiness of both schools is about 85%.

      They also noted that they do not consider the provisional measures justified and have already filed a petition to have them lifted.

      "The Corporation is making every effort to complete the construction of the schools within the previously announced timeframe — by the end of 2025," the organization concluded.

      Recall that construction of the school in Dzerzhinsk began in February 2023. It was originally planned to open by the end of 2024; the deadline was later pushed back to September 2025. A similar situation exists with the site on Kosmicheskaya Street in Nizhny Novgorod. It was also scheduled for completion by the end of 2024, but the state examination approved the construction project only in March 2025; previously it had issued negative conclusions twice.
