The company JSC "Nizhny Novgorod Vodokanal" continues its fight against unauthorized connections to water supply and sewerage systems. Such tap-ins not only violate the law but can also lead to network accidents and reduced water pressure for law-abiding consumers.

According to the mayor's press service, during scheduled inspections in July Vodokanal specialists recorded 50 unauthorized connections in the residential sector of the settlement of Novinki, on Uyutny Lane.

As reported by the Subscriber Billing Department, the developer independently connected the properties to the centralized cold water supply system without permit documentation and without formalizing contractual relations. Payment for the water used is also not being made.

Residents of all 50 properties have been sent notices requiring them to officially formalize their connections. To do this, they must contact the Center for Design and Technical Approvals and sign a contract with the resource-supplying organization.

If the subscribers ignore the orders, Vodokanal will be forced to resort to disconnecting the illegal connections by installing seals. If the seals are damaged and the connections are re-established, the pipeline will be shut off, completely cutting off the water supply.

Vodokanal emphasizes that disconnection is a last resort. So far only one owner out of 50 has made contact and begun the process of legalizing water use.

For unauthorized connection, the owners of the properties will be charged according to the standard norm with a 10-fold multiplier.

If the owner of a disconnected property decides to connect legally, they can submit an application to the Center for Design and Technical Approvals at: 15a Kerchenskaya St. The connection agreement is issued within 20 working days after the documents are received.

As of today, the register of unauthorized consumers at JSC "Nizhny Novgorod Vodokanal" includes more than 600 individuals.

Earlier it was reported that Nizhny Novgorod enterprises were issued multimillion fines for wastewater discharges.
