      Society — A large-scale project to develop public bathhouses is planned in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This information is posted on the region's official investment portal.

      According to the published data, the main problems in the sector are a shortage of public bathhouses and a high level of wear and tear of existing facilities.

      "57.7% of buildings have been in operation for 41 to 70 years, and in more than half of the cases major repairs either have never been carried out or were carried out more than ten years ago," the report says.

      To date, municipal baths are completely absent in 12 municipal formations of the region. In the other 40 municipalities there are 82 such facilities in operation, more than half of which are unprofitable.

      It is noted that interest in modular, i.e., mobile, bathhouses has been growing recently. Such solutions can become an alternative to capital construction and partially solve the infrastructure shortage problem.

      Support measures in the form of subsidies are provided for investors willing to invest in the major repairs of existing bathhouses.

      Earlier it was reported that a hotel with a Russian cuisine restaurant will open in Vetluga, Nizhny Novgorod region, for 45 million rubles.
