      A resident of Nizhny Novgorod will stand trial for a traffic accident in which a 90-year-old pedestrian died. According to the regional prosecutor's office, the indictment in the criminal case has been approved.

      The car accident occurred in June 2025 on Oktyabr Avenue in the Avtozavodsky district. The 21-year-old driver, in violation of traffic rules, entered the intersection despite a red light and struck an elderly man at the pedestrian crossing. The victim sustained fatal injuries.

      The criminal case has been sent to the Avtozavodsky district court for consideration on the merits.

      It was reported that over the past weekend one teenager died and six were injured on Nizhny Novgorod roads.
