The awards ceremony for the winners of the "Victory Dictation" took place in Nizhny Novgorod.

      More than 30,000 residents of Nizhny Novgorod took part in the “Victory Dictation” in 2025. The patriotic event was held at 680 venues: in schools, universities, museums, enterprises, military units, law enforcement agencies, and Russian Post offices. Deputies, Volunteers of Victory, activists of the United Russia party and youth movements, members of military-patriotic clubs, veterans, law enforcement officers, and participants of the special military operation tested their knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War.

      “Residents of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region traditionally take an active part in the ‘Victory Dictation.’ And I think that is natural, that is good! The region’s enormous role in the victory in the Great Patriotic War is indisputable. Nizhny Novgorod has deservedly received the title ‘City of Labor Glory.’ I am pleased that the list of the best participants in the historical dictation includes people of different ages and generations. One of the five winners is a schoolboy. And that means that the truth about the events of World War II will continue to live in the memory of the Russian people,” emphasized State Duma deputy from the Nizhny Novgorod Region and regional coordinator of the party project “Historical Memory,” Vadim Bulavinov.

      The awarding of the regional winners of the international historical dictation took place at the premises of the Nizhny Novgorod Executive Committee of United Russia. Commemorative diplomas and gift copies of Aleksey Isayev’s military-historical book “Blank Spots of the Great Patriotic War” were presented by Dmitry Filipenko.

      “In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, participants of our patriotic event demonstrated a high level of knowledge. This fact allows us to state with complete confidence that the winners of the ‘Victory Dictation’ in the Nizhny Novgorod Region in 2025 are the best of the best. It is important that both in the region and in the country people show a lively interest in the history of the Great Patriotic War. Much about those years remains unknown. The search for soldiers missing in action in that war is still not complete. There is still much work ahead of us, the descendants of the victors, to restore justice with regard to every defender of the Motherland and to defend the truth about our Victory,” noted head of the regional executive committee of United Russia, Dmitry Filipenko.

      The winners of the dictation noted that some questions could baffle even history professors. The high difficulty of the tasks attracts Alexander Gammel to the event. The history teacher takes part in the “Victory Dictation” every year.

      “It is certainly pleasant and an honor to make it into the top five in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. I have been working toward this for several years. A very interesting and useful experience,” shared the winner of the International Historical Dictation “Victory Dictation” in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Alexander Gammel.

      This year the “Victory Dictation” took place for the seventh time. Participants had to answer 25 questions in 45 minutes. At the instruction of the party chairman Dmitry Medvedev, some of the questions were devoted to the special military operation.

      Recall that the “Historical Memory” project is aimed at implementing the popular program of United Russia. The project’s goal is the preservation of Russia’s historical and cultural heritage, promotion of patriotic education among youth, countering attempts to falsify history, and social support for participants and disabled veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
