      A criminal case has been opened in the Knyaginin district of the Nizhny Novgorod region in connection with the injury of a 10-year-old girl during a city celebration.

      According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region, the incident occurred on August 24 during events dedicated to City Day.

      The police duty unit received information from the local hospital about the child's hospitalization. The girl sustained injuries during the celebration.

      Investigators have opened a criminal case under the article that provides for liability for causing grievous bodily harm through negligence.

      Police officers are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

      Earlier it was reported that a car overturned in Nizhny Novgorod with five teenagers: the injured were hospitalized.
