In Dzerzhinsk’s Central Park of Culture and Recreation, the exhibition "Twice Winners" (0+) opened. It tells the story of the selfless work of energy workers during the Great Patriotic War. The exhibition was organized by the energy professionals of the T Plus Group. The opening ceremony was attended by Irina Gneusheva, director of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of T Plus, and the head of the city of Dzerzhinsk, Mikhail Klinkov.
The core of the exhibition consists of materials from the book EnergoArmy. On the 80th anniversary of Victory, T Plus released its second, updated edition.
Readers of the book and visitors to the exhibition will learn how energy workers prepared for the inevitable war, how power plant equipment was evacuated from the frontline zone and new stations were built at an accelerated pace in the interior of the country, how electricity was supplied to besieged Leningrad, how women and adolescents took up work shifts to replace men who had gone to the front, and much more.
Employees of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of T Plus handed over more than 100 copies of the book as teaching materials for educational institutions in Dzerzhinsk.
"The book and the exhibition tell of the feat of our predecessors—energy workers during the war. In unimaginably difficult conditions they ensured the uninterrupted operation of the industry that forged the weapons of Victory, provided light to cities, modernized power plant equipment and brought new capacity online, and as a result honorably fulfilled their duty," said Irina Gneusheva.
"For the significant contribution of Dzerzhinsk residents to achieving Victory, the city was awarded the title 'City of Labour Valor,' and energy workers deserve great credit for this, among others. The exhibition we are opening today is in many ways unique; people of different generations will learn a lot here. And for young residents of Dzerzhinsk, becoming acquainted with it will be an important lesson in patriotic education," emphasized Mikhail Klinkov.
At the exhibition opening, park visitors could send postcards with symbols of the Great Victory to their loved ones, including postcards issued by T Plus as part of the joint project "Nizhny Novgorod Postal Card."
The exhibition will run through the end of September.
