      The Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region backed an initiative to ban vapes

      Deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region decided to send an appeal to the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, with an initiative to give regions the right to fully ban the sale of vapes on their territory.

      The regional parliament unanimously supported Governor Gleb Nikitin’s proposal to grant regions the authority to introduce a complete ban on the sale of vapes, which he voiced at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sarov. After changes to federal legislation, the region’s Legislative Assembly is ready to consider a legislative ban on the sale of vapes as a priority.

      More than 1,400 children will start attending newly renovated schools in Volodarsk, Gorodets and Tonshaevsky District. Modern conditions for children to receive a quality education were created under the “Modernization of the School Education System” program of the state program “Development of Education.” A total of 519.5 million rubles was allocated for repair work and the purchase of new furniture and equipment.

      The comprehensive capital repair plans for each school included roof replacement, façade refurbishment, replacement of all engineering systems, and refurbishment of internal premises. Work was carried out under the supervision of local administrations, school principals and specialists from the Ministry of Education. All three educational institutions were renovated on schedule.

      Employers in the Nizhny Novgorod Region can take part in the “Leaders in the Interests of Women – 2025” competition, which aims to identify and scale up the best corporate programs that create conditions for working women. The competition is organized by the Council of the Eurasian Women’s Forum under the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The competition coordinator is Federation Council senator Olga Shchetinina.

      Applications for the competition will be accepted until September 30. The jury will evaluate applications until February 2026, and the competition results will be announced in March next year.

      The Nizhny Novgorod Region signed an agreement with Perm robot maker to develop cooperation in industrial robotics

      The Corporation for the Development of Industry and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and Perm robot manufacturer Promobot signed a cooperation agreement on the development of industrial robotics. The agreement was signed at the XII International Forum “Technoprom-2025” in Novosibirsk. The experience of the Russian manufacturer will be used to improve the training program “Factories of Robotization and Automation Processes.”

      The “Process Factory” is a basic tool for lean production training within the federal project “Labor Productivity” of the national project “Efficient and Competitive Economy.” In the Nizhny Novgorod Region it has been supplemented with industrial robots.

      A new hotel will be created in Vetluga with the support of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation

      An agreement was signed to create a new hotel in Vetluga with the support of the Corporation for the Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The project’s investment volume will amount to 45 million rubles. The hotel will be located in a historic building in the city center, and a 19th-century Russian cuisine restaurant is also planned.

      The project will be implemented by 2028. Specialists from the Development Corporation advised the investor on available state support measures, clarified restrictions related to the imposition of protection zones for cultural heritage sites, and organized interaction with government authorities.
