The Nizhny Novgorod region ranked 15th among Russian regions in terms of the share of high-productivity jobs. The ranking was prepared by analysts at RIA Novosti.

Experts note that the creation of such jobs plays a key role in increasing labor productivity, more efficient use of human resources and, consequently, the growth of employees' well-being. Differences in the socio-economic development of regions are directly reflected in the number of high-productivity jobs created.

Analysts conducted a study to assess the distribution of high-productivity jobs at the regional level and compiled a ranking of federal subjects by the share of high-productivity jobs. The ranking is based on the number of such jobs per thousand employed. According to official documents, high-productivity jobs are those where the average salary of employees (for individual entrepreneurs — average revenue) is not below the established threshold.

The leader of the ranking was the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug: here there are 929 high-productivity jobs per thousand employed. Also in the top five were the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (819), the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (811), the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (535) and Saint Petersburg (521). In the northern regions, mineral extraction plays a key role, whereas in Saint Petersburg 20% of such jobs are in manufacturing.

Moscow was in seventh place, providing 502 high-productivity jobs per thousand employed. In the capital wholesale and retail trade leads, accounting for 18% of the total.

In the Nizhny Novgorod region there are 408 high-productivity jobs per thousand employed. The main share of such jobs is associated with manufacturing.

The bottom of the ranking were Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chechnya, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, Sevastopol, Stavropol Krai, the Astrakhan region and Crimea. In seven of these ten regions, the main source of high-productivity jobs remains the civil service. According to the authors of the study, the gap between the leaders and the outsiders is 9–11 times.
