Quarantine for rabies has been imposed in two villages of the Nizhny Novgorod region. This is stated in the governor's decrees published on the official portal of normative acts on August 27 and 28.

Thus, since August 22 a special regime has been in effect in the settlements Gorodishchi of the Bolshemurashkinsky district and Novoselki of the Sechensky municipal district.

In the epizootic foci of the disease (the territory of a residential house and a personal subsidiary farm) a number of restrictions have been introduced: treatment of sick susceptible animals is prohibited, entry and exit of such animals is prohibited (except for those vaccinated no later than 179 days before transport), as well as visits to the territory by outsiders and other [restrictions].

In addition, fairs, markets and other events related to the movement and gathering of susceptible animals are prohibited in the villages. The removal of such animals, including for slaughter, is also prohibited in the absence of timely vaccination.

The capture of wild susceptible animals for subsequent transfer to zoos is also temporarily prohibited.

Earlier it was reported that the quarantine for anthrax in the Nizhny Novgorod village of Kekino had been lifted.
